Miles B. Norman is a photojournalist living near Akron, Ohio. For five years, Miles worked as a staff photographer for the Star-Gazette in Elmira, New York. Previously, he worked at the Argus-Press in Owosso, Michigan. His work has earned numerous awards, been carried nationally by the Associated Press and appeared in major newspapers including USA Today, the New York Times, New York Post, Detroit Free Press, San Francisco Examiner and San Jose Mercury News. His high personal standards and photojournalistic style are evident throughout his work.
Miles is a native of Akron. He was introduced to photography at a young age by his father, Robert E. Norman who took thousands of family and vacation pictures. His interest in photojournalism was nurtured as a teenager by older brother, Curt Norman, a full-time news, wedding and portrait photographer, who was generous in sharing his equipment as well as photography and darkroom experience.
Miles has worked as a full-time professional photographer since graduating from the University of Akron in 1987 with a B.S. in Production Management. He works closely with his wife, art teacher and artist MaryElizabeth Norman. He has sons, ages 10 and 13.
